I am a fan of proper grammar, yes, but I usually don't correct folks unless it's work related or just bugs the hell out of me on here bigsmile I don't like being called a troll sir.

I'm with ledi. I do correct my brat often, too. But, then, she's also got a much better vocabulary and better writing and spelling skills than most of her peers as a result of my word-nerdiness!! laugh laugh laugh

One side effect of constantly seeing misspelled words and slang/rap/text writing is that it ends up acceptable and people start adopting it inadvertently. It can get me a little batty. But, I grew up with an English teacher, so grammar, spelling and usage are ingrained in me.

But a troll? Not I!!! noway

If I can understand the point they were trying to get across, I'd leave it. If I can't understand it, I might ask them what they were trying to say.

Bad grammar is rampant.

The person that starts correcting a forum was most likely beaten by their English teachers.

When I see some of these loosers who can't write good it makes me not want to not even write to them ever at all even.
Hardly not two very much at all.

I'm the same way. I will correct my child.

When I was younger, I worked as a proofreader for an advertising company. Incorrect spelling jumps out at me.

Like an earlier poster on this thread mentioned, it's one thing to write an English paper and another to socialize on here. Plus, there's typing errors.

No troll, here.noway I'm not out to humiliate people.

But...if they ask for the profile to be rated and their spelling is bad, I recommend that they look over the profile for spelling errors.

Some people do have learning problems and spelling and grammar is usually one of them. So working with people like this I have to try to correct them. There is a time that they have achieved all that they ever will in that department.

A lot can be learned watching both the Grammer Troll and the illiterate who doesn't know ho to use the spell-check feature.

I am controlling enough. Why would I consider getting with someone who comes across as a control freak here?

As for the illiterate, gotta' wonder how they graduated High School? How do they get by?

I feel for both extremes.

I use Firefox, which has spell check built right in. It's pretty helpful.

Is there a spell check feature on this site?

Yes, if the the squiggly red line appears under the word you typed, click on that word then, right-click it and it will show word options.
Try it on a misspelled word.
Or, that might be a feature on my computer. I am a bit computer illiterate and don't know what all this thing is capable of.

Yeah I just switched over to Firefox and now it has that. Thanks. I usually manage without it since I write a lot.

It's probably a feature on the browser you're using.
