I remember the days of a house full of folks
of laughter and joy and the same old jokes
of family extended and love from my man
when we'd fish from the dock or walk hand in hand
of a church that was close and supported each other
of the accents of stories from his mother and others.
told in a southern comfortable way
just like their food that made you want to stay

My life was expanded in so many directions
and though there was pain, it felt like perfection

Now its me and the four walls
and of course my work
and surviving through a series of jerks
I don't need a lot but miss my old friends
and hugs and his smile when the day ends
a prince may be out there
but perhaps we only get one
I've had the best so maybe I am done.

so, don't laugh, but I think I'm going to join a women's barbershop group. The one here in Tampa is one of the best internationally. That and getting Saturday tickets for the Rays will get me out of the house. I wish I liked car racing...I hear the Nascar folks are great!
