Possessed. It refuses to start....then will start. Decides that the turn indicators won't work...then they do. Volume for the radio on the dash won't work one day...then does another day. The heater controls won't work...then they do. Think it needs an exorcism.

sounds to me like you have a problem with one of your fuse boxes. The connections seem to be shorting. Have you noticed any odd "hot" smells like plastic?

I had a 99 S-10 like that...her name was Lillith. Had to hit the dash to turn the wipers on/off, door would only unlock if you held the doorhandle in 'open' position...had gremlins too. Gas gremlin would stay for a while, then radiator fluid gremlin would get thirsty and finally the transmission gremlin finished poor ol Lilly off

sounds to me like you have a problem with one of your fuse boxes. The connections seem to be shorting. Have you noticed any odd "hot" smells like plastic? Going to check that when it stops raining and can get to it. Thanks for the thought. |

Check the fuse panel area for moisture.
I had the same problems with a car, and it went through the same symptoms, and there was moisture condensing inside the dash area, and sometimes it leaked down to the fuse panel. As the contacts dry and form goo prior to rust, it effects the behavior of electrical components. That issue is different for direct-wire starters, because the contacts there are without fuses, going direct from the column/key to the battery and starter. If your vehicle is newer/different than that...well...good luck. |

You got some crazy electrical problems. Sounds like it's time to get a new car. Good idea. Would you drop a note to the Arizona State Legislature and tell them NOT to cut the Education Budget. They don't seem to listen to any of the teachers here.
