Topic: Here's your sign! (Warning...it's long)

Ok, I need to try to share this because it was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I only hope I can convey it even a little bit close to how it was viewed through our eyes. Sorry if it's long and I hope you enjoy it......

So we see some bright flash of lights out our back door window and my daughters friend commented on it. I go to the back door and open it to check it out. On first glance it appears that a UHaul truck is attempting to make a 90 degree turn from one alley way onto another. This isn't just any UHaul truck, it's the biggest one, the LONGEST box truck they make. Now from my viewpoint this is already a bit stupid because even my full size van can't make that turn. The alleys are tight around here. It appeared that my new back door neighbors aren't all that bright.

On further perusal I see that not only did they attempt it, they actually did it by driving through their new next door neighbors yard AND getting stuck in it! It's February in Ohio folks...and the 10 inches of snow we had earlier is now packed down ice. By now we have the back door wide open and we are giggling at them as they spend about 10 minutes rocking back and forth with this huge truck, burying themselves further into the yard. Junior is out at the side of the truck yelling directions and waving his arms about every now and again. (Here's your sign Junior!)

Now it gets interesting......

Considering they weren't getting anywhere, about 4 of them confer in the driveway behind the truck. They wander around each tire, looking and gesturing. One of them gets up on the back of the truck and starts bouncing up and down on the bumper while they begin the rocking process again. No luck......(Here's your sign mr. bouncer!). Then they open the back of the truck and a few of them bounce on the inside. I swear I'm not making any of this up!!! The bouncing only appeared to make them talk louder, I guess they were really getting excited at all this brain power at work.

Next someone has an AHA moment (I might have seen a light bulb go off above his head, but that's not been confirmed).
He runs over to his pickup truck and backs it up in front of the UHaul. They pull out a ROPE (you can see where this is going) and tie it up to the UHaul. He gently eases the truck into gear and goes.........absolutely nowhere. Junior yells "FLOOR IT"......so the guy floors it. POP! goes the rope and also something in his truck made a funny noise. By now we are doubled over in my doorway laughing uncontrollably. Our new neighbors didn't seem at all pleased with us. I say to them "How that's working for you?". laugh

Anyhow...this whole process took about another 20 minutes. They tried pushing at the front. They tried pushing at the back. (This is a HUGE truck people!) They tried digging out under the tires. They tried pieces of wood, indoor floor rugs and other misc. crap they pulled out of their new garage. Nothing was working and by now they are arguing and fighting with each other. We have now taken front row seats on our deck in our slippers and pj's and are making bets on when the tow truck is going to arrive.

FINALLY a young girl walks out of their new house carrying a bucket of something. She dumped it around the tires and we heard someone exclaim "Try the f**king thing again". He sounded defeated. The driver (whom on an interesting note never left the drivers seat during this whole clown parade) starts up the truck and .........

ONE rock, Two rocks...Three! The wheels begin to move and the truck actually makes it down the alley. A whole lot of whooping and hollering ensued. We gave them a standing ovation (wish I had made a sign).

Apparently all it takes to get a big truck out of a deep rut is a bucket of cat litter. Oh, and the mind of a child. I think my neighborhood is in for some interesting times this year.

I know people that actually carry a couple bags of cat litter in their trunk, just for this purpose... They say it works great.

I would have never thought of it...slaphead

You can buy a large bag of Oil-Dri at the Auto parts store.... Same thing only more for your money..
