Topic: Cover Tunes | |
---|---|
I'm sure this topic has been done, but I'm bringing it up again.
Discuss some good/bad covers. Springsteen's "Blinded By The Light". I like Mannferd Mann's version way better. I like Tool's cover of Zepplin's "No Quarter". Not as good as the original though. Hendrix's version of "All Along The Watchtower"....needs no explanation. Disturbed butcherd Genesis' "Land Of Confusion" |

The Hendrix version of All Along The Watchtower is my favorite.
Dylan himself has said that Hendrix fully realized his vision. The song cannot be done any better. |
The Byrds did several outstanding covers of Dylan tunes.
Mr. Tambourine Man My Back Pages It's All Over Now Baby Blue All I Really Wanna Do to name a few. |

i love limp bizkit's version of "faith"...it's so bad it's good

Good cover....White Wedding by the Murderdolls
Bad cover...as much as it pains me to say it....For What It's Worth by Rush. |
There are SO many rushing through my mind's ear at once.
I particularly hear: "Where did you sleep last night" by Nirvana, unplugged. "Wayfaring Stranger" by Emmy Lou Harris. Emmy's entire catalogue of other's songs. The girl never fails to nail it in one! She has covered SO many great songs, and made them shine for all they were really worth. I'll stop, I'd never be finished! Too many... |

Turn the page done by Metallica was horrible Yeah, that was pretty bad. "Stone Cold Crazy" was pretty bad too. I'm sorry...but nobody can cover Queen. Their Garage Days Revisited, was decent. I epecially liked "Helpless" and "Crash Course In Brain Surgery". I like Orgy's version of "Blue Monday". |

"Where did you sleep last night" by Nirvana, unplugged. Great cover. I also enjoyed The Vaseline's "Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam" from Unplugged. |

I epecially liked "Helpless" and "Crash Course In Brain Surgery". I like Orgy's version of "Blue Monday". I thought Metallica's version of The Small Hours was the best song on Garage Days. Ra did a very good cover of Every Little Thing She Does from The Police |
