My daughter and I purchased this item labeled as broccoflower at Krogers last week. It wasn't anything but a purple cauliflower! Tasted exactly the same.

I wonder if it's dyed or it's grown that color? Would make an interesting soup.......

Upon further review, it appears that it IS grown that way, but was mislabeled. I wonder if I can get my money back?...

What, purple veggies aren't interesting convo?......brokenheart

I am actually about to go to Kroger to buy ingredients for cooking. But that's pretty weird about the purple veggie.

Blue/purple fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals which help to fight diseases and maintain good health. Research suggests that some fruits, such blueberries, may help prevent the affects of aging.

broccoflower is a hybrid breed of broccoli and cauliflower. they can come in different colors depending on the species that were cross bred. broccoflower is actually the most common hybrid vegetable, and is usually green, because they are both apart of the cabbage family.
