And, too. Isn't it funny how you sometimes find yourself wondering how many people the other person is IMing based on their delay in typing? I hope that I don't give that impression, b/c I very rarely am talking to more than one person at a time, and if I am, I normally say something about it and apologize for being distracted. I have on many occasions wondered just that. I would find it a little rude unless they tell you ahead of time and then I would have trouble taking the conversation very seriously. |

I just can't see the reality in forming a bond of relationship strength with someone you've only read messages from or talked on the phone to.. ;p I would much rather a guy say, "Hey, was just checking out your profile and wondered if you'd like to meet up and have dinner" or something like that. Then let real life take its course. |

As long as we exist in a physical form outside of the virtual world, then "cyberdating", IMing and such can be no replacement for face to face physical interaction in a relationship. |

nah, I won't. just venting a little humor found in the situation is all... and I noticed this forum had died, so why not stir up a little discussion) Things are more fun around here with stimulating discussion. And, too. Isn't it funny how you sometimes find yourself wondering how many people the other person is IMing based on their delay in typing? I hope that I don't give that impression, b/c I very rarely am talking to more than one person at a time, and if I am, I normally say something about it and apologize for being distracted. If someone from this site IMs me, I'm not going to stop any other conversations I have going. I've had someone ask if I was chatting with someone else at the same time and I said yes. He got angry because he wanted me to stop everything else I was doing to chat with him. He was a complete stranger... not going to happen. |

I guess it would depend on if I knew the person or not. While I wouldn't ask someone to end all other conversations, I would reserve the right to not put much effort or attention into the conversation. |

While I wouldn't ask someone to end all other conversations, I would reserve the right to not put much effort or attention into the conversation. I was referring to chatting with people I didn't know at all. People I do know would never ask me to end all conversations with anyone else. Just as I would never do that. If I want a one on one conversation with someone I'm not in the same room with, without any other distractions, it's going to be on the phone. |
