Sometimes talking to yourself is the only way to go, that has happened to me too, I take it as a sign that this persons brain is smaller then my dogs!

when someone wants to have a conversation with you through aim, yahoo, msn or whatever and its completely one-sided?

I can't stand it when someone sends me an IM to have a conversation and then I'm the one that is carrying the entire conversation, asking all the questions and all i get is one word answers back. If you want to talk to me, the conversation needs to be carried both ways frustrated

I have to much going on around me to keep up with an IM conversation- but if I did..one word at a time couldnt keep my interest so I would have to end the conversation all together

Nope it doesn't rate that high if they aren't talking I just close the window and go on with what I was doing before they rang...

I usually end up deleting the person from my contact list, but if they were really boring an not wanting to talk I will add them to my ignore list then delete them LOL

It's why I don't yahoo that much.Plus there are lots of people on my list that is one sided conversationalist. I get bored with them. I'm usually too tired to conversate these days anyhow. I like the forums, I can reply when I want, and log off.

A couple of reasons that people hold one way conversations is you don't realize how much information you give out trying to get them to talk.

The other is they are trying to keep you on line with you long enough to get into your computer.

That is much easier if they get you to go out of Mingle to another ISP server. They get money for every email address they can collect.

And that's why I've done away with the IM.

Get them on the phone and they don't shut up!

I personally find it INCREDIBLY annoying when the person you're talking to via IM suddenly logs off and doesn't at least have the common courtesy to TELL you they're signing off.

The bulk of people who express interest fizzle after one or two sentences.

I am quite encouraging, and it sometimes takes five or six exchanges for the person to be comfortable to write more than one paragraph. If they are out of practice with writing like this, then I really do understand their hesitation.

In psychology, alogia, or poverty of speech, is a general lack of additional, unprompted content seen in normal speech. As a symptom, it is commonly seen in patients suffering from schizophrenia.
