Im not a random meeter........I like to get to know someone really well before I put my life in danger of meeting a potential psycho. Usually the psychos show themselves in emails pretty early...

It's a simple formula. I take the distance between us divide it by the number of e-mails exchanged. Add in the cost of the meet factored to the third power. Then subtract the amount of minutes we've spent talking on the phone.

what So I guess it varies. what

I say just go for it. Waiting too long can just lead to disappointment if you think you have a connection on line and then there is none in person.

When we met at around age 14-15 somewhere in there. She was the most loving and beautiful girl I had ever met. That all changed after we had a kid, got married, joined the Army, moved into together. By the time all of that apart time was said and done, we were two completely different people.

How long with just minor chatting back and forth on here would it take for you to meet the other person face to face if they asked you?

I'm not really talking about a date, but just meeting. Maybe for coffee just to see if you two click or not.

My answer:

I wouldn't mind meeting people the same day. I'm not the online chatty type of person. I like going somewhere public and just hanging out and having a conversation about whatever.

What are your answers?

I email for a while - weeks. Then graduate to the phone.

My meas and agenda are my own at this point in life so the time isn't the issue about meeting someone.

However meeting someone who is not interested enough in makeing a match to invest a little time in getting to know someone really doesn't want a relationship on the level I do.

Also I have some non-negotiables so it doesn't make any sense for me to meet someone who I don't know enough about to know if they are compatiable. Why waste their time?

I am not as tough or dangerous as I might have been at one time but I really don't think I have to take friends to assure my saftey in a public place. If someone meets me and still doesn't want to tell me who they are then I won't waste any more time.

I don't believe the rampant paranoia in this thread. What's the difference if you met somebody from online the day you first talk to them, or the person you've never seen before that you strike up a conversation with at the gas station?

What's next? Jumping at the sight of your own shadow?

my shadow scares me......

but I have no problem with the guy at the gas station.....so long as he doesn't follow me home

I'll give you lesson one for free.

You have to post one really weird video here on the forums that has a song that can make people uncomfortable.
