I put a salt/sand spreader on craigs list
got an email from someone saying they were interested if it was still available.
I replied it was. Then they sent me an email saying they'd send me a cashier's check for 3000 more than the item and all i had to do was give the balance to the shipper.

i googled it and found out my intuition was correct. they've tried this many times.
ugh...

Thankfully, you use your brain. There are a lot of people that do not. Glad you caught it.

i had placed a ad not in craigslist but someone other one,,placed advertizement last yr for my daughter was trying to find a place.
and some idiot email me and ask me how much my house was. and i email him back and told him i didnt have a house i was trying to find one, and he even was willing to wire me money..

and i had another guy that ask the same question. so i thought it would be funny sense they thought i had a house, so i stated that it was a farmhouse with a barn and horse it was on several acres of land and the rent was $3,000 plus first and last plus deposit.. of course he never did email back

i got an email from a woman who said she had 2 bookstores and wanted 10 of my books.
but no shipping as she would have her shipper come and pick them up.
i gave her a price and she could only send me a check or money order for them.
Because she wouldn't give me her information about her bookstores or a name, or anything else, i told her i only accepted credit cards or debit cards.
i never heard from her again
