Hey! Does anyone enjoy watching "Worst Week" it is one of the freshest new shows I have ever watched!

If, by "fresh", you mean "blatant rip off of a UK sit-com", then you'd probably be right. It seems that the dolts coming up with our TV programming have tapped the well so dry with ideas that they've resorted to stealing ideas from other shows from other countries.

Really? what would be the title of the show in England?

The title of the UK show "Worst Week" ripped off is entitled...
... wait for it... ... "Worst Week". Actually, the full title (of BOTH shows) is "The Worst Week Of My Life". However, since that title is just too long, it's been abbreviated to simply "Worst Week". The last episode I did was when they were at a high-dollar wedding and the star of the show accidentally spills gasoline in the pool, causing it to catch fire. In fact, much of the show had a wedding theme to it. |

I'm not any more bitter than usual, thank you very much.
Anywhoo- some of the networks have gotten into the rather bad habit of "adapting" shows produced in the UK for airtime here in the U.S. in a rather shoddy attempt at ratings. It started with "The Office" (which was also originally a UK sit-com starring Ricky Gervais), "That Guy" (a Brit show about a dude in his 30's who thinks he can still hang with twenty-somethings... it didn't get past the pilot episode out here), and most recently "Worst Week". Not only that, but they've just premiered a U.S. version of "Top Gear", a UK-produced car show with biting humor. I'm just waiting for NBC or some other network to make an American-only version of "Doctor Who" or "Monty Python's Flying Circus". |

moofooga...
didn't they already do dr who? |

Yes. But it's produced in the UK and is pretty darn good. I'm talking one thats produced in the U.S., with some twenty-something metrosexual as Doctor Who and with incredibly lame plots designed for twenty-something "ladies".
Even though such a venture would surely fail, I'm sure the dolts in television land would probably jump at the chance to produce it. |

Yeah. A number of UK-centric shows have been copied rather heinously by networks here in the States.
The latest show to get the "me too" treatment is "Top Gear", which is a kind of tongue-in-cheek car review show with crazy-ass stunts and wisecracking hosts. It's been a REAL hit the last couple of years, so some genius out there in American TV land decided that we needed a show just like the one in the UK. And that would be fine, except that they got Adam Corolla to host the thing, which effectively killed the show off for me. BTW- "American Idol" is also a rip on another UK show, as i "America's Got Talent. |
