I feel like a broken record when I say this over and over. Any site is what you make of it. You have to market yourself in whatever means that is. You have to make the effort to meet people.. You have to take risks something I find very few are willing to do on dating sites.
Somewhere I think people that are dissatisfied with Dating sites think that they walked into Burger King, all they have to do is order what they want and it will magically appear.
So let me guess you filled out your profile, sent maybe a dozen emails if that, posted a few pictures and the man or woman of your dreams didn't fall from the sky.
I think you have been given some great advice of getting out in forums and meeting people. I also would say to work on a great opening email and start networking.
That brings up another point I don't know how many emails I have gotten from men that start out pretty good then in the closing paragraph they shoot themselves in the foot by telling me how low of self esteem they have with this one statement. " I will be surprised to hear back from you most women don't seem to like me. Well why should I then. I answer those emails with questions of why the self defeating attitude.

Bottom line any place is what you make of it the choice is yours.

And THAT'S ^^^^ why I enjoy talking to this woman! She "gets" it!

Well, they MIGHT, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it waiting for it to happen.

I have found this to be a good friendship site but a poor dating/relationship site....besides having a limited selection of geographically desirable choices, most contacts have not led to much in the way of a date.....

if i really want to find a date/relationship I use other sites....they have been much more successful & are better set up for relationships....I do like the Mutual Match feature.....

I have never figured how that feature works. Oh well...

As far as contacts on this site. One of things that impressed me was there were more " REAL" profiles of people men and women in my area than any other site.
There was a site I was on a few months ago, I wanted to test a theory I winked each and every profile that was vague and didn't get one response back. I then looked at the female profiles and there were two that was filled out mine and another woman. The rest were as blank as the males.

it had the potential of working for me... i was engaged for a year to someone i met on here... but he ended up being very immature (can't blame the site)... and now i'm become extremely smitten with someone else i met on here... and we're seeing eachother in march... :-)

plus, i've made LOTS of amazing friends on here...

I've not dated anyone from here but have made lots of good friends, have met several in person..

I have met some really great people on here and two or three Ladies who have WOWed me with their charm and intellect. Ok so they are 897000 miles away, friendship knows no mileage, harder for dating though...........gotta get to know folks...
