I get what she means by ugly. Just another way to say unattractive. And I have received some photos of some men that were really unattractive to me.

perfect teeth might be nice but in a mouth thats mean they may as well not be there at all...

to each his/her own...if you choose to preclude yourself from meeting people who don't have pictures..that's certainly your prerogative, however, you may miss out on the opportunity of meeting someone you find attractive..i suppose everyone has different experiences when it comes to these sorts of situations..i'm curious to know the statistics..i.e. people who were who portrayed themselves as being..ect..sitkarains comment is a good example..

me -- i haven't met anyone in person;however, i have corresponded on a few occasions...i would have to say that the great majority of people that corresponded with..ratio of perhaps 60/40 are very suspect...perhaps prstuts..looking for a john/mark..

These words actually makes my point. Since online you don't know who is really what they say they are in their pictures. So therefore I insist on Webcamming before I meet anyone period. I set the ground rules beforehand, we both abide by them. I also let them know I am going to Screencapture the shot and print it out then I expect to meet this person if they aren't there well there is no first meet.
I absolutely agree that their has to be some sort of physical attraction for me that could be the raise of an eyebrow, smile whatever. I also believe looks fade and they are gone in a blink of an eye then what do you have if there is no other connection.

Needed to add if they aren't what they say they are then there is no chance since I will always wonder what else they lied to me about.

Well someone has to catch my attention and then I talk to them and see if their personality is worth me getting to know, yes it may seem shallow BUT dont get me wrong I like all sizes and shapes of women lol :) I just wanna meet one worth my time and hers. The end by Tj ;)

The only feature I might just have shortened would be my nose. Ironicly, I discovered this not because someone said it was huge enough to impale someone, but I did a 3D scan of my face with my latest invention (a topographical scanner) , and my scanner was not flattering, not one bit! Other than that, <shrug> I'm still happy with me, being me, and raising a few eyebrows here with whatever comes out of my head.

i have met one, person without a pic....very attractive...just like he said....nothing really to hide, bad experiences made him overly cautious I think, but more out for a good time, than for well...friendship or anything else...

for the most part though, no pic and I probably won't talk to you, but then more often than not the no pics don't have much info on their profile anyway..so you really have nothing to go by...

I knew this would be a touchy subject that many will pass judgment on me for brining up (call me shallow or pass judgemnt without even really knowing me)....I guess I just live on the edge like that :) It was just on my mind again as it has come up many times lately in chatrooms (on other sites) & in conversations with friends I have made online...all who feel the same. We feel we are at a slight disadvantage when people view your profile & comment on your pictures yet they have none & in some cases they have no profile content either.

If anything this topic was meant as a simple nudge for those who dont have pictures to post one & get their just due profile views

I recently began exchanging emails with a very nice person (although a bit to far away & at the top of my age range) after he posted pics finally (& I read his great profile). The site I saw him on I only ever do searches for profiles with pictures posted.

I took it down because I was wondering what might be happening. Good memory by the way!

I have more faith in the human condition than that. Most people here with photos really do show their mugs, somewhere. What have you got to hide?

People have different reasons for being here, and different reasons for posting -- or not posting -- pictures.
