My daughter has handled it pretty well. Considering we are not from a military family. And this was a first tour for both of them. I am proud of them and all of our military. I have learned so much repect and admiration. I have always had repect for our military but it has gone way up having lived through some of this being close to us. My younger daughter's husband did 5 years in the Marines. He did two six-month deployments. My daughter was alone in San Diego and I lived in Ft. Lauderdale at the time. It was rough and that was in peace time. Can't imagine now. |

I have had the pleasure of having some of the young men here for homecooked meals and when they were coming home, they dropped several hints. So I have very happly to oblige with homecooked meals. It was the least I could do for them.

My brother in law is of the Vietnam era and is still in touch with his buddies. Hard to believe he is still having nightmares and a hard time after all these years. I hope we have learned as leson well. I know I have, though even as a youngster I had respect.

Thank you, but there is no greater force I would have protect me than our men and women of all the United Stated forces. If feeding a few is all I can do, then I am most happy doing it.

Then that was it, because he was Army, that was his last stop before discharge,after a 13 month tour in Korea. He got lucky and never had to go to Nam |
