WHY DONT THE STATE PAY FOR THE MEDICAL BILLS, A NEW CAR. OVEN.MEDICAL CARE.AND A 10,0000 DOLLAR WEDDING??????SHARE THE WEALTH YES WE CAN

Perhaps, if they can't afford a car, oven or the medical bills for the child, they shouldn't have had it. Why should the state have to pay for their irresponsibility? Just saying so forced abortion is in order???????? after all either they are babies or they are not right??????? after all maybe they used birth control that failed I'm certainly not saying anything about abortion, forced or otherwise. But, why should they expect the state to pay? If you can't afford a child, don't have sex, it's the only foolproof way not to get pregnant. Anything else is irresponsible. If you do get pregnant, intentionally or otherwise, then figure out a way to pay for it. I pay for my own, as do most people, and I never wanted or expected anyone else to pay for anything. They should not be forced into marriage, of course, that's simply not a good solution to the problem either. They're forced into marriage to avoid a bill they can't afford then they become yet another statistic? That's not right either. don't have sex (like that is gonna happen) ------------- amybe they should get married and when it does not work sue the state for manipulating their relationship now thats a thought |

I'm sorry, probably was a little harsh in my judgment, I guess I just get a little sick of the "entitlement" attitude of so many, that they can do what they want and someone else has to take responsibility for it. And I agree with one poster above, why isn't the mother having to pay for some of this? She's just as responsible as the father. |

I read it as they were one of the working poor. |

It didn't say that they didn't have a job. I read it as they were one of the working poor. In Michigan, that wouldn't be surprising, jobs are few and far between and the Flint economy's been a mess for almost as long as I can remember. |

There are time limits on the aid. You have to be working and/or going to school while receiving aid. I believe that the limit in my state is 5 years. |

Yes it's a sad part not only about Michigan. But many other states too.
So it's not just michigan falling a part.. it's many others states falling apart. By job lost and many more. |

Sadly, there are many people that work and are still eligible for state aid. That's sad about the jobs in Michigan. I think it's the government's responsibility to help those that CAN'T help themselves, not those who won't or those who refuse to take some semblance of responsiblity for their lives. Children, the elderly, physically challenged, the working poor, etc. I have no problem with helping them, HELPING, to taking over their lives. If you are capable of working, you should be. I think the state should help with education, job training etc for those who are capable so that they CAN escape the cycle. |

THEN GO WHERE THE JOBS ARE.THATS WHAT AMERICANS DID DURING THE DEPRESSION.TODAY PEOPLE RELOCATE ALL THE TIME.ITS NOT LIKE THEY HAVE ALOT INVESTED WHERE THEY ARE AT lol.. I like you to walk up to any family and tell them just what you said to all of us and see what kind of looks and responds you will get. This family doesn't even have a car.. so how are they supposed to relocate ? Plus the father is the only one working.. only earning $8.00 an hour.. no telling how many hours he is working either. Bottom line is.. they can barely make ends meet just like many other familys can. But there just getting by. But as I've said before.. there could be other bigger issues here we all do not know about. |

At my mother's work, many of the employees were eligible for state aid. I thought that was sad. |

THEN GO WHERE THE JOBS ARE.THATS WHAT AMERICANS DID DURING THE DEPRESSION.TODAY PEOPLE RELOCATE ALL THE TIME.ITS NOT LIKE THEY HAVE ALOT INVESTED WHERE THEY ARE AT It costs money to relocate. Then there's the down payment on everything. What do you mean, "It's not like they have a lot invest where they are at"? What about family and friends? Btw, why do you keep hollering? |

I would like to add that it costs money to live while they're looking for a job in another location. Also, many divorced people with children aren't allowed to leave the state because it separates the children from the other parent. |

Worse of all.. his family doesn't even have an oven or a car. Gee, no oven, no car? One job 8 dollars an hour. Hmmm, Here's a simple solution.. NO BABY! You mean with all the supposed education out there, young people still don't know sex = babies? And protection doesn't always protect, you are still risking pregnancy? Ugh The government seems as clueless as the couple. Forced marriage rarely if ever works. Just make the father pay for his part (the bill), the mother is paying her part by having it. And she will continue paying more than the father because in most cases she will be the one caring for it. Now once again we taxpayers and paying our part by bailing out two irresponsible people, who will undoubtedly need assistance. Talk about bailouts. Is this not a bailout as well? Ok I expect to be attacked, go for it. |
