I feel like my life is good
I'm happy for the most part
No one can be 100% happy all the time right?

I was just confronted (and not for the first time) from another member here that told me I seem as though I'm sad.
I've heard this before when others look at my photography or read my writings.

Is it possible that I don't see my true self?

well.....if you do not rely on the opinions of others.....it must be "only" your self reflection.....

Do you meditate?

i try not to rely on or weigh heavily on the opinions of others. meditation is something i've thought about. perhaps stress levels show through more so than needed. but i don't know the first thing about it really.

I would say and its only my opinion, you pics make you look more , pensive, or thought provoking, then sad ... flowerforyou

You are into Photography and your poses show that. Yet you are on a dating site and not one pic shows a smile. You post intelligenty and are good looking, even sexy if i may go that far, but still no smile. I really think others are just trying to help becuase they see your potential as well.

perhaps your writing are cathartic??? and once it is "out" of you you "feel" good...but others only get to see the "cleansing writings" and not the way you feel afterwards ...

Don't rely on what other people think. Some people are more difficult to read than others. That's okay. It makes you an enigma and all the more intriguing to those wanting to take time to get to know the real you! flowerforyou

... Sure, that is possible, but I don't think that's the case here; that person who thinks that about you just doesn't 'get' you, they are seeing merely the words you've written without the meaning between the lines. You're a multi-layered person with a deeper soul than most, so for example, when those same persons look at your pics, they're simply not realizing that there's a difference between looking contemplative vs sorrowful. You're fine just as you are, so pay no mind to them ~

Christo makes a good point. Certainly contemplative if not sorrowful. Yes, many might not see the true you that is portrayed here. Then again you did ask hehe.

Looked at your photo/profile and it does give a negative vibe.

Knowing that photography is a hobby I thought you were going for a pose to evoke a story. Maybe people are reading sad into what was suppose to be serene, or sultry, or just sleeping.

Most people have the idea that a young woman is "upbeat" beaming with happiness and smiles in the middle of friends which of course is as much of a stereotype as any other.

That the text of your profile says you are disinterested in any contact here maybe they saw that as sad/withdrawn rather than careful?

Most of the people here do care about people maybe they are just being protective. Might be reflecting their own sadness. Common in the holidays and just after.

hmmm
thank you for some real input
there are differences in the way people see a portrait or read a story
i realize that
i just didn't want the 'why so sad' to be a universal thought
if that makes sense.
