There are a multitude of reasons that people are here, or on any dating site.

Some may consider those people, regardless of their reasons for being there, ' losers '.

' Rejects "??? Well...some people would say that we are all ' rejects ' in one way or another.

Of course, those are the people that don't know any of us very well.

Same here, I am not a bar person. Drunk people annoy me, unless I am their waitress and they are tipping me!

Probably most of the Dads at Owen's school are married or in a relationship. Plus he goes to latchkey, so I don't see many parents when I drop him off and pick him up.

At school/in classs, the program I am in, there are mostly females... (gosh darn social work... or they are married!) And around the university, I am so busy I don't get to go to special lectures or social functions. And when I do, I have kido in tow.

OH well! *sighs* Maybe in graduate school there will be more men to choose from!

That's been a long-standing interpretation, although I think it's starting to fade a little as more and more people try the sites out and get more comfortable with the idea.

Having dabbled with these sites on and off for about ten years now, I can say that it's clear (to me, anyway) that they do tend to be populated primarily by people who have had bad or no luck using other methods, which is sort of a no-brainer -- if the other methods worked, why would they need to be here?

In that sense -- people who have had no luck elsewhere -- I suppose you could consider dating site people as "rejects," as in consistently rejected in one relationship after another....

But I think that's too much of a blanket statement, and probably a little harsh --

There are those of us who have a very hard time finding the kind of person we want, and who may have, at one time, felt that a dating site might offer opportunities otherwise unavailable -- it's a nice theory -- but what I'm seeing, if anything, is that the "rejection" goes both ways in these venues -- almost to the point that "acceptance" is virtually extinct....

I do not think online dating sites (especially this one are for loser or rejects) Why? because I have waaaaay more luck at a bar than on here. This site is a tuff nut to crack as far as even getting someone to message you. So if your up for a challenge,online is the way to go. I keep on keepin on.

No! It's certainly not supposed to be the only place you go to date, rather it's to be used in addition to real life places.
