Another good coach on the market. Think anyone will be interested in hiring Gruden for next season? If so, who?

seems to me he only had one or two good seasons with the Raiders

I wouldn't hire Chucky

You are certainly entitled. I have no opinion one way or the other. However, I do believe, as I'm sure you do, that we should be in possession of as many facts as possible before we reach an opinion.

Informed opinions tend to be better!

yah, cause if I were in the market for a coach I would certainly do a lot more due diligence than just a off the cuff opinion

my opinion is really nothing more than a sum of accumulated impressions and not really anything you would wanna base a zillion dollar franchise on

The only vacant coaching jobs right now would be....

NY Jets.

I do believe that was his 1st season as their coach.... So he took Dungy's team to the super bowl.

Bottom line.... Dungy could not get it done in Tampa. Sometimes a fresh voice is needed.

Exactly...time for change. The firing of Gruden & general manager Bruce Allen are most likely just the start of the changes to come.

When Mike Alstott left things went downhill for him.

He retired ... he had to because or his neck injury. But I dont think his retiring made that much of a change.

yeah i know what happened to him. Him leaving made a huge impact. they had to rely on the passing game more. He was such a key player for them.

Well, I think Gruden had six or seven seasons in Tampa Bay, and for the most part, he did a good job their. But his firing, IMO, is about a change in Tampa (which has previously been discussed). Look at Shanahan in Denver. 14 seasons their, two Super Bowls, but over the past few years? Nothing. So he got canned. Time for a change.

I believe Gruden, aka "Chucky" will be a head coach next year. And, being honest, I feel he will probably go into college football. With him on the market, alot of big time college programs will be interested in him.

In football you are hired to be fired....That's how football works. Some managed to make it, but only a chosen few.
