Only way to live...

I totally agree, but didn't follow that advice until THIS last year. Ya .. tell me about it. The sting is still evident. LOL

I have always lived this way.

But I have friends and family that will spend, spend, spend...
and they are STILL living this way.

I don't get ithuh

Didn't the '80's teach them ANYTHING besides Reaganomics?

evidently not...

it's all about me, Me, ME in their book

You aren't questioning the proverbial "AMERICAN WAY" now are you?

I agree. I used to bring home bags every week from say Dillards with the newest heels or business suit.

Now? I never go in anywhere. If you don't look you don't realize you want.

I do what I can to keep my head above water, it's tough. I've been out of work since october.

You're way out East. Can't hep from here.
However, a cousin of mine was recruited by Ford to work on their high-end autos. They were willing to train. Don't know if you're willing to relocate, but, if you are, you might contact them.

I have been out of work for 4 weeks now, already chewed through 10% of my savings. But my job will come back in March or so, and when I'm at school I don't need to buy food or anything, so I should be all set.

None of this is surprising, really. This is really not a big business economy. Low overhead is the way to be, and corporations are probably hit worse than any other type of business by this recession, unless it's bare necessities. I doubt Walmart or the large food chains are suffering nearly as badly.

I have been for several years already Live with in my means is a better option .. I just won't go into debt again over what ever reasons cash some small credit card etc.. thats the only way.. and now I am happy and content It was n't my fault banks loaned money they shouldn't have or people borrowing knowing full well theycouldn't afford it... yet there is always more and more things that make it worse.. I live close to Lords town ( GM plant) and I laugh at what they ( Gm ) is doing now.. the concessions being made? hey they had a work pool if you got laid off you still collected 95 % of your salary and you ask If I have sympathy? sure its in the dictionary between syphyliss and well you know... slaphead

I've never been one to spend more then I have. Had credit cards while my kids were growing up but since then have paid them all off and slowly but surely paying off my house and my car.

It is going to get a lot worse before it gets better and it is best to see it ahead of time and buckle down where you can. bigsmile

My only saving grace is that I SHOULD get a relatively decent tax return this year, but even that lasts only as long as it will stretch.

Not me. I had to cash out four loans I had against my retirement last year and 1 more this year. The taxes are so ridiculous .. well, I won't get into it.

frustrated frustrated frustrated frustrated

and like the thread I made earlier this month, I guess the IRS is a kinder, gentler soul now .. sayin they are ready to make 'deals' .. wootwoot
