by their spritual or religous views before getting to know who they are, where they come from, or trials in their life?

There is no religous chat to this. Just a question.

Eh well here's the thing. I'm nto a religious person, and if someone wrote in their profile that they were devout...it's pretty obvious things wouldn't work out. Religion is a sensitive subject

I believe that anyone can be as spritual or as religous as they wish as long as it isn't pushed in someones face and they don't talk about it constantly like they are trying to prove something.

As soon as I see any reference to god or religion, I hit the back button smokin

If someone is very religious and talks about it in their profile, they're probably not going to be someone I want to date, as I'm not religious at all. As a friend, it wouldn't matter.

No one could get me to stop smoking dope but I also know that I can't control what people do or believe either. We have a choice and that's what makes us all so different and life so interesting. Have fun til it's time to stop having so much fun.laugh laugh

When I read something like that on a profile, I get a tad concerned that they could possibly be a right-wing fundamentalist. We would be too opposite then, IMO.

If they say something like "I'm a good Christian woman looking for a good Christian man," then I know there's no point in going any farther. If it's clear that their religion is a defining factor of their lives, to the extent that their partner must hold the same beliefs, then we are not going to be a suitable match.

I judge as well out of precaution, sometimes fake people use these sites to "phish" or spam, so I pay close attention to spelling, pics or no pics, usernames, the whole thing. I've had some women on here jump all over my profile and tell me their personal email address after only like 2 messages, giving me some line like "it's easier to reach me at.....", well, it sure didn't seem to be a problem contacting me here either so when someone sends me something like that I tell them I don't know them well enough to do that just yet and sure enough I never hear from them again. I fell for it on other dating sites, then when they email me it's a link to another personal site, or they're from a foreign country trying to scam me out of money or something, have to be careful on "teh web", there's no accountability out there so unfortunately I have to judge to an extent.

edit: as far as judging based on religious views, I don't see a problem with women who mention that, and if that's their gig, more power to them and they're smart/brave for putting it out there as it will filter out the people who probably wouldn't work out etc.

Depends on what their spiritual or religous views are. Since I'm not a christian, I tend to avoid profiles that have any mention of "good christian", "faithful church goer", etc. in the "About Me" section.
Just weeding out what I know won't work for me.

If People are pushing their religion in their profile I usually move along. Life is too big and too rich to have that kind of tunnel vision.
IMHO...

Never..we all say things that make us human truly at times and not my place to decide if they are who they say they are
