Depends on you. Somewhere I saw a post tonite asking about a Parasite. Look up definition description #2 in Websters.
If your a giving person well then by all means if the guy makes you happy. Fortunately, I think you have too much going for you for that.
My suggestion,, move on quickly and start looking elsewhere.

#1 and #2 say enough before you even get to #3. Really...unless your still 18-21 and going to college, theres no reason you should still be living with momma.

Ummmm....

My Mom is in a really bad spot right at the moment. She is now living with ME until I can get her into a better place than where she was.

It was either she comes to my place, or she'd freeze to death where she was.

Don't tell me there is NO reason for living with Mom.

That is nothing more than semantics. Either way, she is in the same domicile with me.

Had I been in the same situation, it would have been reversed by me going to her house until I could get things straightened out.

I cannot be the one to throw stones at this guy because I did something similar when I came back from Tennessee.

Of course, I didn't have a job, or a car, or anything more than the clothes on my back when I came back home, and as soon as I got a job I got out. But I still won't deride him.

not sure if this will sound like i am shallow or what.... i guess that is why i am posting for comments:
i met this guy about a week ago. he wants to start a relationship, start dating. this is a long term goal of mine, however certain reg flags:
1) he is a struggling writer- struggling in that he moved in with his mother. now i am far from a "material Girl" and i am not looking for anyone to support me- i have a GREAT job---- but i am not wanting to support anyone either!
2) he already said i love you
3) he did not offer to carry something to the car for me

am i being stupid? comments welcome

(this was a short version- did not want to go into get detail)

Ok...let me rephrase this. Unless you or your mother is ill to the point where one of you can not take care of yourself, there shouldnt be much of a reason to still be living with your parents

Everything you posted is explainable in a persons life for the most part.
He is maybe starting off and while not the best thing to be with a broke guy, love doesn't always attract you to the goldmine.
He already said "i love you" - week in makes anyone question how serious he is, but he could be the type that believes in love at first site. Yes there are still dreamers out there!

THE LAST HOWEVER... yeah, sadly the simplest thing is the biggest red flag to me. There is never an excuse to be inconsiderate to the person you are with. Sorry but that one fact alone leads me to believe he is more in love with himself then he will ever be with you.

Just my 2 cents.

main thing is: when he looks into my eyes i do not feel like he is seeing the woman of his dreams-- almost like he sees a question and is forcing himself

What do you think he sees when you look at him?

Looks like you have to get through the short term first.

#2 The next time he says it, ask him why. Do you inspire him? A writer needs to be inspired. If he says it without substance, then no wonder he's struggling.

I always say accept people for who they are or leave them where they stand. Don't waste time wondering why he will or won't do something. Spend time finding out who he really is. That's more important.
