Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share this with everyone, because i am going thru it..BIG TIME!! I dont know if some of you have noticed, i havent been on here much. Because of depression..I am not ashamed either. I also suffer from Alcoholism, i have been sober for 4 months, but have not been doing what i need to do to get help..I have isolated, not wanting to see anyone, talk, get involved with my children, or friends or most of all ALCHOLICS ANONYMOUS..which is very important..I am not working at the present time, no money, no friends, not even being the mother i need to be to my kids, all due to Depression..I cry alot, even had susicide thoughts, but deep down i wouldnt actually do it..But, i've come to reaize that i need help in the worst way and noone or no thing is going to help me until i help myself..I guess i've hit like this emotionially bottom even though i havent had a drop of booze in 4 months, which im so surprized i havent drank because i've isolated myself so bad and just didnt care..I have alot of people that care for me and that was shown to me and i care about myself, so enough is enough..I NEED HELP, and im going to get it..I also procratinated on getting help because of all the FEAR i had..well, i realize i can do it, and im going to get thru this fear..There really is only one person that is going to help me and i've seen him work in others and thats GOD!! Im not the most religious person, but man i sure beleive! And i know if i do what i have to do to get help, he's going to do the rest for me, along with people he sends into my life.I know this deep in my heart. So, i just wanted to share this with everyone..Anyone else is suffering from depression, alcoholic or not..SEEK HELP..its so worth it..attached i pasted about depression..thanks guys, its good to be back.i've met some wonderful people on here..I may have to leave again for a while, but i have to do what i have to do..Because for this person..TO DRINK IS TO DIE WITH ME, and i have alot to live for. I love ya guys sweet What is depression? Depression is a serious medical condition. Everyone experiences "ups" and "downs" in their life. But for some people the "downs" can outweigh the "ups." This can cause problems with everyday activities such as eating, sleeping, working, and getting along with friends. If this happens for more than a few weeks, depression may be the reason. Depression affects a person's physical health, as well as how he or she feels, thinks, and acts toward others. It brings about a mixture of feelings and thoughts that can cause someone to depart from his or her usual behavior. Depression is very common — it affects an estimated 19 million American adults every year. Nearly twice as many women (6.5%) as men (3.3%) suffer from depression each year. The good news is that it is possible to manage the symptoms of depression. What causes depression? Although the exact causes of depression are unknown, it may be due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. Serotonin and norepinephrine are 2 chemicals used by some nerve cells to communicate. These chemicals, called neurotransmitters, are thought to be linked to depression. Therefore, medications that affect these neurotransmitters may play a role in treating depression. A person may experience symptoms of depression suddenly, for no apparent reason, or after a life-changing event or medical illness. Some types of depression run in families, suggesting that a biological vulnerability can be inherited. Take action if you believe you suffer from depression As with any medical condition, depression should be treated by a health care professional. The first step toward relieving depression symptoms is to speak with your doctor as soon as possible. By seeing your doctor at the first sign of depression symptoms, you increase your chances of getting over these symptoms and keeping them from returning. Even if you've sought treatment for depression in the past, it is not uncommon for symptoms to return and interfere with your life again. Whenever you start to notice depression symptoms, don't wait to talk with your doctor. Important Safety Information Suicide in Children and Teenagers Antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children and teenagers. Patients who are started on therapy should be observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior. EFFEXOR XR® (venlafaxine HCl) is not approved for use in children and teenagers. |

There is a drug called "Celexa" that may help you. Worked well for me
while I took it. As much as I hate to admit it i've been down that road...not with alcohol but severe depression that went unchecked for most of my life...3 failed suicide attempts and probably more to come. As you probably know already there are tons of help for you out there...not sure for you but comprehensive care helped me for a time. For the sake of you and your children get some help and stick with it. Good Luck and best wishes. |

Best wishes in your journey Sweet, it's not easy, but it's worth it.
Haven't got the alcoholism problem myself, but I've experienced the effects second-hand, and I do know how depression feels. You're right, God helps us, if we want it bad enough to do what it takes. You're in my prayers. |
