Topic: Hackers and cons.... | |
---|---|
With all these fakes running wild in here and harrassing others and basicly slandering the good folks on here who are real and honest, maybe it is time to prove your identity before an account is allowed to be opened. A hassle I am sure, but would it not be worth it to all involved to be able to trust that you are interacting with who you think you are interacting with? Just my opinion, but there are already those who have been hurt by this. Would you like it to be you next?

To quote myself from a different thread:
![]() ![]() ![]() You can impersonate me all you like. You will NEVER be able to match my arrogant nature, my sarcastic wit, my thought process, my obnoxious personality, my abrasive tone, OR my intelligence. Too many people know my style. It makes me who I am, and they wouldn't want me to be any other way. You can't match me! ![]() ![]() ![]() There's literally well over a hundred people from here that know me on a personal level, and have met me in person. They know who I am. |

who has this actually happen to ![]() ![]() Queenie, you missed what was happening earlier. Lots of turdy trolls being just plain childish and mean. Such a shame that they feel the need to be cyber bullies. Let us all pray for him/her/them. |

I think that's how most of us have been able to tell who's real and who's not. I mean let's face it, there are some people on here that they can't copy no matter how hard they try! |

Maybe they could make it so a membrr could opt in as to whether you want to be "verified" or not... and maybe pay a small one-time fee for that verification. Then your profile would show as "verified" or not.
Driver License Number... then they could check your Name, Location, Age and physical description. I think it would also be enough for Mingle2 to check for criminal background to screen for sexual preditors, domestic violence, DUI, Probation, etc. That way they could still remain a free sight and offer the option to each member to be verified. And if one fails the verification, their profile would not show as verified... but I don't think they should disclose the purpose for not being verified... right to privacy. That way when we view a profile, even in the forums (maybe an icon that shows verified or not), then we would know that if the show as verified, they have passed the identity and background check. If their profile does not show as verified, we can either assume that they did not qualify for verification, or they opted not to get verified. Then it is up to those of us who may be interested to decide if we want to take a chance with that person or not. I think it might work.... what do you think?? |

i'm on another site that in order to be verified you must take a picture of yourself in front of your computer with your profile on the screen while holding up a sign with your profile name and site name on it.
it works out pretty good. |
