Topic: Fear of rejection

This is a page out of my book this winter break. There's this girl I graduated with, we started hanging out over the summer with mutual friends. We've been alone a few times, I took her out, nothing came of it. She'd ignore my calls. I got her a nice, inexpensive birthday present, which is more than anyone else got her, and she just brushes me off. So I'm essentially rejected. So I stopped.

I don't mind the initial rejection so much, moreso after awile hanging out. That is the rejection that I hate.

Have you ever denied your feelings for someone because your fear of rejection was too hard to handle? No. I have even asked males out. I am virtually fearless of being shot down. I guess I can tell you in all honesty that it is far less likely to occur when a woman asks the man of course. I think men need to get over it. Tell me what is worse? The sting of rejection which is really only a few moments of intense embarrassment or carrying around the regret of never having the courage to make your move?

picture yourself knowing it "is your time". And you had 1 chance for redemption...for what ever that may entale. Would you chance, risking everything..or just wonder..what if they actually said..." it is about time, I've been waiting for you for ever".

Absolutely I have felt that before. Imagine how more successful some of us could be without that type of fear? More successful with with friendships, careers, ... umm anything else? haha
