I wanted to do that and the cops told me that they  have to catch the cars speeding, that a citizen complaint (meaning us giving them tag #s) won't work  . I have thought about putting big rocks (boulders) in the street and when the cars come speeding by they will hit them. But with my luck the damn boulder will pop up and go through a car window (probably mine or someone in my family) and then I would really be pissed.Where did I see you can buy spike strips 
Merle you can get a web cam that will record when there's movement. You can try pointing it out the window at your car. It's sad to say that the law will let you down. Give them a plate # make model ext and it still doesn't do any good. But it can help your insurance company which can and will go after the owner of the hit and runner. |

That will work if we can get the information for them, but normally it happens at night and no one is around to get the info we need
