Is giving your number the first time you meet someone on here a bad thing or good thing? and should you call? Would you?

All depends on how talk through email has been. If there's any hint of anger, resentment towards past relationships or jealousy I don't give it out. I usually will only give out my cell # just because it's the easiest to change.

Some guys seem to be computer limited... so if they seem to be struggling with the keyboard or instant messaging, I will offer my number.

Sometimes they call, sometimes they don't. I don't get all worked up over it... I'll leave a number in my cell for a month or so, that way I'll know who's calling and I can choose whether I take the call or not. It saves being blindsided by and unexpected call by someone long forgotten or avoided.

I can always change my number if necessary. I like to hear their voice, their responses, their breath, laugh, etc. It offers more insight and it's harder to hide behind their natural reactions, voice tone, etc. than it is with typed words.

It seems more natural and more "telling" so I get a better feel for who they are.

At least a couple of indepth chats/emails. A woman usually lets me know when she's ready to talk on ph.

A total of 4 by the way.

I would be VERY hesitant in giving out my number to anyone, unless you've known him for a while. Stalkers...are never a good thing, and all they do is CALL YOU!!!!

If you want to be in touch, give the number...you can screen the calls and/or ask him/her to stop calling again if it's a problem.

Everyone has their own comfort zone but if I share a few great emails with someone I'll ask her for her number and call her. However sometimes her response is "I'm just not ready yet". In which case I move on. There are too many on these dating sites who are not seriously interested in meeting anyone for me to waste my time with.

Yet I never give my number or ask for hers right away. I'll put in a little effort first in finding out a little more about her.
