Hummm, did you check the oil most of the newer mowers if the oil runs
low it will also make them die like that. Found that out the hard way when mine did it and could not figure it out changed the spark plug filled it with gas cleaned the filter and all. But humm did not check the oil level it was a tad low but still had oil in it. But when they get down to a certain level they have them now where they will not stay started that way ones like me don't burn the engine up lmao. Now that is the first thing I check. |

I hear ya..well, I've gotten it to where it'll idle ...but soon as I
start to mow it dies. Meantime, the kid across the street on the main road came over and offered to cut it for free (neighbors who just moved in recently) ...which is really nice because the neighbors in my cul-de-sac, who know my mower is having problems, have yet to offer to lend me their mower temporarily. i mean, I know you don't want double the wear and tear on your equipment and all that, but ..damn...I'd lend them mine in a heartbeat, if the situation were reversed. |

Oil level is fine, but it could use changing.

I totally forgot about that. |

Jean, with everything else that has been checked and done, it sounds
like a needle and seat job in the carby, if she is flooding under load, (as soon as you start to mow), then yep, carby needs a service...it is not a biggy, really, and if everything else has been checked, it's fuel... Hope this helps, and it is possible, there may be a retired tinkerer nearby, who can do the carby service for you, for a bit of cash..maybe ask around a bit? |

Jean, did you empty out the old gas, from last year?, if not do it, then
put fresh gas in. |

Yes, fresh gas, fresh oil, air filter cleaned, etc. It worked just fine
mowing half the yard..so...from the way it's acting, Jess's suggestion seems the closest to what the problem might be. Well...not going to worry about it right now..since the kid across the street finished mowing it for me. I'll look at it again tomorrow. I appreciate all the suggestions! |
