Honest is good, nothing wrong with what you said... Not everyone is going to agree with how they handle things.. I do the number and no call back sometimes and sometimes I just say "no, I don't think it's a good idea" or that I'm dating someone...

It's much harder to give out fake numbers now that everyone has cell phones. Because they will be like, "Hey what's your number? I'll call you now so you have mine." A fake number obviously wouldn't ring to your phone right then and you'd look like an asshole.

So yeah, I will usually have the dude call right then so I have his number, and put his name in my phone as "No" or "No way" so I know not to answer when he calls.

Definitely not as fun as the days I used to give out 867-5309.

Pre-plan what you would say in a situation like that. If I don't want to give out my number I say "You seem very nice but I'm afraid I don't give out my phone number to strangers. Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime and will have the opportunity to get to know each other better".

Good idea. Last thing I want to do is give out my number to someone I don't actually want to hear from again. There are polite ways to get around it such as what you've suggested.

I just say "Sorry, I only give my number to pretty girls"

that just might get you smacked in the face

i mean i still think a reply back saying im not intrested is called for here.They are being nice still but not driveing you crazy by saying nothing at all.I agree to take this one on the chin but it really does suck to feel amazing after getting a number and feeling the rush.Only later to get tore down that ur not my type.Avoidance is total disrespect in my book and we all outta have the backbone, to say hey im too shallow to speak to you if thats how it is!

I'm woman enough to say "No, I don't want to give out my number" I don't play little kid games. I've had this done to me, and other petty little highschool games. If I like you, it means I actually like you. If I don't, I'm not rude about it, I just say I'm not interested. I think that's far less rude than leading them on, giving out my number then never calling back.

Well look at it this way, if she doesn't call you back you know she's not your type without having to take her out and put in effort into it.

agreed totally but damn i always at least talk to a person at least once before decideing.I mean my god the phone call is not a curse,and how will you know what someones about if you never give them lead way.Alotta people are single not b/c their arent good people out here just that we have such a high bar and no room for comprimise....Everyone deserves a chance,b/c even myself have been shocked by women who at first wherent my ideal
