Nothing, I stopped taking on the responsibility of the rest of the world. You feel sorry for them and try to help and they take advantage. But, I might do it for a Kolndike bar I don't think you should ever help someone because you feel sorry for them. Pity is not what people in need want. Compassion and a genuine wish to help someone is always a good thing, and yes it can come with someone trying to take advantage for sure. It often does in fact. But please don't let this deter you from helping another human being. Sometimes the smallest thing you do for another can be viewed as life saving to them. |

I would do anything for anybody because it's just the kind of person I am.....Not because of the thank or pat on the back...but for the simple fact that it is what Christ Jesus expects of me and I wouldn't expect anything less of me.

I do my part in my job position as a Social Worker in health and benefits w/o getting to personally involved. |

For a fellow human being? Would you give up a kidney if you were asked and you were a match? I offered to give part of my Liver for my Step-Sister 6 years ago for my close family or my kids in a heart beat. Would you step into a situation if you saw one person beating or hurting another one? Humm yeah and have before worked as a Bartender for over 10 years many years ago. But would do it today as well or at least get help would never sit back and watch someone getting hurt and not do anything.  Would you do anything if you were in a bar and saw some guy slip something into someones drink? Hell ya I would walk up and grab the drink and say something, Hummm never been one to not say what I think.

I like to think that I'd say yes to all three. I kind of think you'd have to actually facing each and any of these to know for sure...

I think you may be right there...I just know my personality is that I am a fixer and a doer...If it needs done I just get it done whatever it is. And when it involved fellow human beings even more so. I firmly believe do unto others and you would want done unto you.

It's just that to me it seems like one of those combat dilemmas which you can't be sure that fear wouldn't overwhelm you in the face of actual combat. You can't know for sure that you'd pick up your gun and shoot someone until you're actually faced with it. In which case you'd be doing unto someone exactly what you wouldn't want done unto you... |
