I had to erase my original introduction to this news. Funny yes but given the tender sensibilities of some it was reportable I am sure.

(Oh, does anyone think it's funny that posters who often complain about lierals being politically correct are often the first to report other posters for being "offensive?)

Rep. Cliff Stearns hopes so.

The Ocala Republican wrote to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday asking her to move votes scheduled for Thursday evening and Friday so House members from Florida and Oklahoma can go to the Bowl Championship Series national title game.

Oddly -- or maybe not -- none of the other members Stearns referred to as "we" signed the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press.

Pelosi's office said she would not agree to the request.

sure why not the country is in great shape those republicans did such a great job they deserve a day off. I would give all the republicans the day off then vote on chargeing Bush with war crimes and crimes against humanity
