soon i will need a live in baby sitter for a 7 year old child . free rent your own room and all the food you would ever need.ware is the love lady's.it looks like i will have to put her in day care. if only one lady in this world would be on the up and up i would not have to do this.this just sucks that their is not one lady that will not step up to plate .tears

Theres plenty of reputable nanny services out there.. All I can say is back ground check, background check, background check... and i mean the agency and the person they choose for you...

but i also have to tell you daycare isnt horrible, my kids had to go and they turned out just fine... had a ownderful daycare ladie they all still keep in touch with.. she became a part of their family...

Good luck in your search !!!

I have been lucky and have found most of my sitters through word-of-mouth at work, and it's not easy to find someone who will cover the 12 hour shifts I work! But, another good source is: http://www.sittercity.com/ This site has received lots of good press. I joined for a while and found a couple great sitters. Good luck!

I wouldn't call day care "farming her out." It's a necessity in this world for a lot of families and it teaches kids very, very valuable skills. There's a lot of good ones (and a lot of bad). Just do your research, visit them and find one you're comfortable with.

You can also look into hiring an au pair. They tend to be a little less expensive than nannies, though they are only allowed (usually) to stay in the country for a year, so you'll have some inconsistency. Just look for a reputable agency.

Yeah, it's tough but it's doable. You'll find someone you're both comfortable with. But NO MESSING AROUND WITH THE AU PAIR YOUNG MAN laugh laugh laugh

My son has been in daycare all his life. I prefer in home daycare to the larger centers out there.

omg they are all so hot i was looking at web sites and if she was a live in girl it would be the biggest test to stay away.it would be like being a monk.the collage has girls that need housing and they would do it for free. free room and board for child care. my work thing would be from 10pm to 6 am. the child needs to be to school for 8am and picked up for 3pm. so i can do everthing but watch her sleep. all the girl has to do is be their if she wakes up.i have not got a steady girlfriend so i guess i will have to sub contract. dam i wish some one would do this for me. free rent and food.laugh
