I was recently watching the movie "Demolition man" and I used to laugh at how the future is supposed to be in that movie. But lately I have to wonder if we are moving closer and closer to the happy, happy, joy, joy society. In the movie they had these rules...

No cuss words-You would be fined by a machine

Salt-It is not good for you and is illegal

No kissing or sex.Sperm for babies would be sent to a lab and later inserted into the female.

No physical contact

No smoking,drinking,or drugs

No red meat or spicy foods

I have noticed that lately some of these obscene laws are becoming closer to a reality.Smoking has been banned nearly everywhere and will probably be banned permantly.

A senator in Illinois wanted to make using cuss words illegal and wanted people fined for cussing.

Another liberal in Illinois wanted to pass a law that banned serving obese people in restaurants(no I am not making this up).Overweight people would have to step on a scale to determine if they were obese and could be served.

High taxes on soft drinks. There is a small movement to ban soft drinks altogther.Soft drinks have been banned in nearly every public school.

Due to the global warming hysteria. Many senators have proposed limiting the number of miles you could drive in your car per year.A indicator would tell you how many miles you were allowed to drive every year and any miles after that you would be fined.I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they fine you if your car is leaking oil.

A New york senator has already slapped a high "junk food tax" on fast food restaurants.

In the year 2010 every household in America must have the new CFL light bulbs.

Despite "The right to bear arms" many cities around the United states have made owning firearms illegal.

Definitely. Not too mention a lot of that 90's style is flaring up again. But really, many of these laws are just ridiculous and it's only going to get worse.

The day that meat, sex and cussing is outlawed, I'm going to buy a boat and go out and live on the ocean O_O

What's wrong with taking sodas out of schools?

I'm glad that they've done that.

When i went to high school i had to have a mt. dew before class started, and a pepsi after school let out. God help those around me if i didn't get one of them.

One time the student's pepsi machine ran out of everything, so i sneaked into the teacher's lounge and got my fix. But i got caught and the teacher tried to take it away, and i held onto the can as tight as i could and ran out of there and hid under a stairwell until everything cooled over. drinker

I hate to say this but I haven't really a problem with that and junk food being taken out of schools. I think parents are the better judge of what their child consumes for health reasons.

I also agree that smoking outside is best. I know full well what smoking can do to a structure let along lungs, and I smoke, and I smoke inside which I know I should not but heck there's no body to nag me.. grin. But I pay for that slacking because I have to clean harder.

I think when huge corporations decide that their profit is more important than our lives we should take notice and prevent them from selling our kids junk. That might seem controlling but I can't think of a reason why that is so bad. if you can please inform me..

No cuss words-You would be fined by a machine

Now that's just plain ridiculous...

Salt-It is not good for you and is illegal

I'm an adult, buzz off is my answer to that, however I think if you know that salt is bad for you, you might consider not consuming it, though it's not my business to lecture, nor is it anyones business to lecture me on smoking, and I will respect others by not smoking in their faces in public buildings. At first that ticked me off but then i changed my mind on that, it's just respectful.

No kissing or sex.Sperm for babies would be sent to a lab and later inserted into the female.

Huh, I don't get this, no kissing no sex where? the rest is just silly.

No physical contact

Ridiculous

No smoking,drinking,or drugs

Buzz off. I don't drink normally but don't want to be told I can't have one when I want to, same with smoking and drugs.. well the drugs is another issue, depends on the drugs..

No red meat or spicy foods

Buzz off... red meat I use sparingly and spicy food very sparingly cuz my stomach can't take it like it used to...

I think this is the first thing we agree on.

It's just insane, the amount of things that are legislated.

If 19 amateurs with boxcutters can take 4 planes and hit 75% of their targets, the government has bigger things to worry about than soft drinks.

There's a certain intrinsic danger about life that can't be completely eliminated without nullifying the reasons for human existence.

Incidentally, there are also people who scratch out cuss words in library books and replace them with something benign, which is a very traceable felony. ...And anyone who thinks that it's a (Christian) religious piety to avoid cursing should note that the words pi**, h*ll and d*mn are in the Bible.

I have a child. I like it that my child's school offers only healthy foods. It's not good for the child to fill up on non-nutritious, non-brain food during the school hours. The school is responsible for my child's well being when they are at school.

I agree..." YOUR CHILD "...what you think is right for " your " child...may not be what I think is right for my child...{ if I had one }...choice...right ?...or is it only selective choice ?...
