It all depends. If I were talking to a person who hitch hiked from Poland to Cambodia when she was in her teens, then followed it up by hitchhiking the world for 5 years starting with $500, and was in the process of hitch hiking Africa in the company of a white camel she had purchased, and we were talking about the time she bought a horse and rode it through the jungle for days in Peru, I don't think I would give a flip about what her room looked like.

If someone did not keep a kempt place, not only would I not date them, but I probably could not have them as a friend either. Those are the ones who try to come over to your house because it's not all trashy/sticky and there are clean dishes and places to sit down, and I'll be damned if I have someone trashing up my place..

What would I say to them?

"Clean that *ish* up and don't ask to come to my place!"

Because there are things liquid plumber will not solve. First of all if the plumbing is old then there is a chance you have either a rust or dirt clog. LP will not work. it needs to be snaked out.

Hair is another thing LP will not work on. I know many of us like me hate Home Depot but try using the ZEP Drain Cleaner in the black bottle that is sold sealed in a plastic bag. It says Hair Clog Remover. If that does not do it call in a turd herder!
Sometimes this will bust onion skins as well but if you have that you may as well have a dirt plug because that is the one other thing LP does not affect at all!

Be careful with the black bottle of Zep. That stuff will burn you good if it gets on you! There is a reason it is sold in a bag.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Its better now, the water is at least going down instead of just sitting there. Its irritating cause nothing big can get down that drain, I am thinking maybe just a big blob of grease or something from Christmas. I was poking this little wooden skewer down there last night and I moved whatever it was.

Being the smart person that I am, my house keeper IS OCD, and I make sure everything is a bit off and out of alignment before she starts cleaning.

I actually HAVE a friend who is one of those super messy people...stacks and piles of hoarded stuff. It's sad, actually...but I don't hang out at her place (no where to sit down, in fact!) I wish she'd value herself enough to give herself a nice environment but I can't fix this for her. We've had that very discussion but it's up to her.

OMG, that sounds like my sister's house. It is completely gross. I can't figure out how someone can be that much of a slob. The kitchen is always piled high with dirty dishes, the living room looks like a tornado hit it, they just clear a spot big enough to eat meals at the table. I think my neice has every toy ever produced and they are all over the floor in every room of their house. Sad part is they are raising a child in that environment.

I am not a neat freak, but thats just awful.

If it's just clutter, not that big of a deal. But if it's nasty with food and roaches everywhere. I'd probably tell them they need to get off their lazy arse and clean.

I'd go over and punish 'em if they didn't clean it up this instant!
