Hi, my son is prescribed these steroids for his breathing. The problem I have is I only have 5 pills and they dont taste very well, so I am suppose to crush them and put it into food. Sounds easier said than done.

My son has not been eating normally since he has been sick. He will not eat is favorites. So I am scared that if I crush it into something and he wont eat it, I am wasting this pill.

What would be your suggestions as to how I can give him this. He really needs this medication.

Call the doctor and ask for it in liquid form?

Is there anything at all that you think he will eat? Banana? Something...

I had the liquid form last time and it was just as hard to get him to take it.

It would be good if you can get it in liquid form. Then you could mix it much easier. But if he's not eating... you might have to wait til he gets to the point where he will eat again. I know he's almost 2 and may not be willing, but do you think he would even attempt at taking a bottle?

I've tried everything. He is stubborn.

I asked the doctor yesterday to just give him a shot of it, and he said they didn't have that for such a young child.

Terrible twos are wearing me thin.

Well, I dont give him anything with artificial coloring. But I may try something else and freeze it. Thanks!!

My son had chronic childhood asthma. Call the doctor & tell him you are down one pill. My experience says steroids isn't an "oops missed one" kind of medicine. It needs to be adminnistered in a specific way.

Try mashed potatoes? sweet potatoes? soup?
