It seems to me that some people would rather grow old alone and be surrounded with "stuff." Hey, if that's your thing it's all good, but stuff doesn't fill my soul. If a woman is willing to be my partner and is a decent, honest, and loving soul I couldn't care less if she does not have the proverbial pot to piss in Damn, you hit the nail on the head for me.   Kitten you know I am not selfish & money loving, but I have been out on the street because I trusted someone & I have worked too hard & sacrificed too much to risk losing what little I have to a lying user. When someone has to have live a lifestyle way beyond their income it's a red flag. When you are "going out" it dosn't matter & you are right, it's none of my business, but when you start thinking about moving in you have to discuss money. I have learned the hard way & I am too old to start over again. I'd rather be single & secure than part of a homeless, hungry couple & the truth is, when it gets to that point most couples split up anyway. I see where you are coming from. But you don't HAVE to have finances together. It can all be seperate. In the end, we are dead and it doesn't matter anymore anyhow. It isn't easy to keep things so clear cut Hon. when you live together someone has to pay the bills. If you come home & find out the electricity has been cut off & 2 weeks worth of groceries are spoiling because he spent the bill money on pool night,a fight is brewing. It's a sad fact that money is important. Just look how emotional these 2 threads got. If you ignore it & find out you have very different ideas about fiscal responsabilities there is eventually going to be trouble. |

To place value upon a person based upon their financial well being is so wrong. True wealth is not measured in dollars, it is measured in the quality of the person. JMO

Really, when's the last time you went to a "soup kitchen" lookin' for someone? I betcha could pick and choose just about anyone.

I don't consider myself a rescuer at all, but I certainly enjoy helping my partner achieve all she can. |

When one ASSUMES something, they only make an A$$ out of....
Pathetic is in assuming you know everything there is to know about someone or a situation based solely on forum posts. Obviously, your insults and attacks on others stem from something hitting a personal chord in you. Dependency issues much, my dear? Poverty and personal irresponsibility is a b!tch, isn't it. I dont know who your talking to, but it seems to me that YOU are the one with the issues. *shrugs* I could care less if someone thinks less of me because of my stupid credit report (by which can be fixed *roll eyes*). If I dropped dead right now, it wouldn't matter anyhow. It's not YOUR concern of my finacial debts, nor is it anyone elses. I'm sorry that you have a problem with it. But you probably need to get over it. |
