If you were interested in getting serious with someone and had the opportunity to find out anything you wanted to know, would you do it? If you found out something bad about them or found out they weren't who they said they were, would you tell them how you found them out?

Do you wish you could have had the opportunity to do that with someone in your past, so you wouldn't have had to go through all the heartache you've been through now?

Would you feel it was an invasion of your privacy if someone did this to you?

I think I would. I got burned in the past by not asking enough questions, so I'd definitely want to know about anything that might negatively affect my finances or health before I get serious enough to change my name for him.
I'd certainly talk with him first, though, and encourage him to do the same if he has any questions about me & my past.
I think I'd only get offended if he did it behind my back.

I would if I suspected anything - I'd ask first and only do it if I still suspected. I've got a kiddo to look out for now so the game is played way differently.

Would I go back and change anything? Nope.

Nah...gotta go with your gut. Delving into someones past before you get to know them on your own is big sign of insecurity and will only lead to jealousy down the road.

right on!!
