Been to Florida I live in Alaska the one thing I would suggest is don't just take a cruise you will only see a small spoonful
I would always choose my great state.

I really would be quite happy if I never had to see snow again -- I'm gonna say Florida....been there a couple times, got to see alligators. Probably not a lot of those in Alaska!

(Then again, there aren't a lot of polar bears in Florida either, probably....)

I think each has its own flavor, are you in the mood for great scenery or the beach, cold or hot, seafood or cuban food shades

OK Y'all... the lower 48 got more snow and is colder than I am right now. I just got my first cold snap and snow storm the week of Christmas.
We are not ALL snow and ice. the summer is actually hot up around Fairbanks.. they get up to 100 at times.

Alaska is so pristine, clean, and free.

I live in Florida so of course my choice is obvious, but I drove, by myself from here, to Seattle, up through British Columbia, the Yukon and then on and all through Alaska a couple of years ago and I had an absolute blast!

It seemed a little strange to me how I met so many folks in Alaska that were longtime residents but who were originally from the lower 48. Most of them seemed to be either from Alabama, Georgia or one of the other southern states.

Alaska Alaska, Alaska, Alaska!
Bring my gun and my fishing pole!
Gun for keeping the bears off of me.
Fishing pole for...

...You GOTTA ASK????

BIG GUN DAMN IT! Alaska has some big and very pissed off bears that will eat people given the chance and all mace will do is just piss them off more.
Alaska is one of the few places that owning and carrying a bigger gun is not a matter of penis substitution. You are not stopping a truck with a pop gun. A friend of mine shown me pics of some of the fish he caught stream fishing north of Anchorage. The fish were HUGE! I was told you could not keep them off the hook. They had to use a bush plane to get where he was staying in a cabin of course. his trip cost him about $1400. He also had pics of the NINE hundred pound bear that tried to eat him. Note the operative phrase TRIED. He didn't even see it coming until he heard four gun shots and looked over his shoulder to see the freshly killed bear laying behind him. As he put it the $1400 was WELL spent since it included the two armed guides who took him to my buddies opinion one of the greatest fishing trips of his life except for the mosquitos and his one anus tightening experience not knowing a bear was stalking him. The countryside is spectacular. Best of all most of it is still unspoiled!
I do want to visit Florida but too many people and too much development. It is not one of my highest priorities.
