Until you are actually put in that situation you can never fully understand. It is easy to sit back and say that you wouldn't put up with that but take it from someone that did, leaving sometimes is not an option or is scarier than staying. I put up with it for too long because of religous and personal beliefs. It takes a really strong person to just leave and it took me 12 yrs to gain that strength |

Total lack of security Mine was the fear of what he would have done to me once he caught me. Self esteem plays a big role in this decision as well. |
