Topic: Not your type | |

Well I aint lowering my expectations or standards... so I had to politely say thanks but no thanks and told them why... I always tell them why... Someone not being your type doesn't mean they're less than you. You may not be compatible, but it really shouldn't be considered "lowering your standards" by giving a human being who likes you a chance, even if its just one date to be sure you're making the right choice. good point Thank you. Seriously, sometimes someone who isn't seemingly your type can become a source of fascination for you. I like people who are completely different from me because thats who we learn the most from. |

I rarely get in this situation. It usually is the other way around. But depending on if they are into a casual relationship or not, I may just keep them for back up. But I would be honest about it of course....and only if they were fun in the sack.

Has anyone really liked you, but they weren't your type? NO Never!!!!! What did you do? Like everyone else does,,,you help them to understand why YOU TWO wouldn't work out very good, wink, By ingenuously allowing them to tell YOU that after you both have talked of their crush on you,,,wink. NOW THATS,,,making them feel GOOD about their new decision... |

We've all met lots of people who we call friends but even if the situation availed itself one may not necessarily have any interest in taking the relationship with them to a more intimate level. You simply need to be honest with each other and just state that right now you are not interested in being more than friends, rather than sidestepping the issue by not addressing it at all and being hurt by some unknown reason(s) for what seems like a growing disinterest or discontent in the overall relationship.

Has anyone really liked you, but they weren't your type? Inevitably. It seems that my "type" is almost extinct. What did you do? When I was younger, I would give it a shot anyway -- figuring maybe I just needed to be a little more open to other types. It never worked. It was just a temporary diversion. Not that there's anything wrong with temporary diversions, but that's what Sudoku is for. |
