I can't say that I have a preferred position or side. My preferences seem to be more "magnetic alignment" positions and even those change with the seasons. I'd have to say I sleep like a compass needle and prefer no noise or light, though I adjust well to any. I just don't need a lot of sleep and rarely take a nap, though I'm trying to learn to do that.

i sleep on my tummy with my face facing the wall. just in case zombies come i dont wanna see the end comin..

i also float. i sleep in all different positions and toss sometimes due to a crappy bed. ;p

and i can't sleep on air matresses once due to one time i did .. fell asleep on ym back, sank to the floor and woke up with my knees in my face. i was wedged in.

Im a fetal position sleeper and I need to assemble a little nest with the comforters and it has to be totally perfect. I also require ambient sound like cars passing or a radio or TV. I can make do without these things of course but I wont sleep as well.

Wow, I feel alot more "normal" after reading some of these comments. Doesn't sound like a lot of "couples" sleeping, does it?

:

Butt naked....spread eagle...total silence...pitch darkness...I have been told that I talk alot in my sleep (wich is odd cause in my dreams, I never speak)....and apparently I often stop breathing...then bolt upright when I do breathe again. (not sure about that...just what I have been told)
 Need to be checked for sleep apnea,it can cause health problems.

I like to fall asleep to ambient music. I tried classical music but it is either too quiet or loud .

That breathing thing is really odd in someone as skinny as you.

It sounds like sleep apnea, something you might want to look into.

I have tinnitus so the only way for me to fall asleep is with the TV on a sleep timer.
I sleep in a king size bed on the right side.

That sucks. A man I met recently on this site suffers from tinnitus from being in close proximity to an explosion in his youth. Ruptured both drums. He's lucky he has his hearing though. Cant complain. There are meds that will relieve it.

I always sleep on the left side of the bed, and I alway lay on my right side, with my right arm under the 2 pillows, and another pillow between my legs.
I perfer total darkness or just the light from the tv. I also like going to sleep while listening to the police scanner. OK, im weird...

I wrote a story in college about a boyfriend and girlfriend couple who made it a habit of listening to their police scanner for fatality crashes. When they heard this, they would rush to the scene to strip the victims of cash and anything of value in the vehicle before the authorities arrived.

That's...great. Really, wish I'd thought of that.

I have that too, but the ringing in my ears doesn't really bother me now that I know what it is. Kinda like white noise... I figure it's just the whine of my turbo. lol

I love that show! Well my kicker is his fiance is late home from work and he hears a crash on the scanner. He rushes there of course and its his fiance laying helpless and bleeding half in and out of the car, pinned in rubble. Instead of helping her, he just strips her hand of the engagement ring. happy

The end.
