No, the way Jeff Foxworthy puts it is derogatory (albeit in a comedic,
non-serious manner), as it speaks, generally, about poor, uneducated,
rural, Appalchian-type people of the South.

That's not at all who I'm referring to if I say someone is a redneck. I
mean, it can be, but so can a person who lives in the city, has a good
job, lives in a mansion and drives a nice car.

I grew up hearing people use the term to describe
troublemakers/fighters, instigators, those who defy authority and just
generally think being boisterous and rowdy is something to be proud of.

Around here, generally speaking, that is considered "offensive"
behavior.

I hear ya Sheila, that is the way alot of others take the saying
Redneck. Just differnt versions for differnt folks lol. Just like there
are other words that actually have more than one meaning to them. lol
Rednecks are consider someone that will fight but some only do it for
there honor or to help out a friend were others will do it at the drop
of a hat don't have to have a reason at all.

not the topic but around here redneck "means " someone who just goes to
work finishes work looks for some excitement[excitement could be cow
tippin' lol] has a few is kinda an air head ,not well educated and does
the same every day and just believe's it's the way to live

Even a person who lives in a mansion, drives a nice car doesn't
necessarily depict a NICE person. I've met some down right rude,
arrogant and obnoxious people of means. I've known firefighters and
cops who were genuinely naughty so even occupation doesn't make someone
'nice'. Still voting for nice here and it doesn't matter where they
live or what they do for a living.

well, much like guys want "a lady on the street and freak in the
sheets"--- i want a man who treats me well on the regular, but changes
