I've counted at least 10 delusional women who used that as their headline.

Try and count the ones who say they are "laid back and easy-going" in their profile. No one has yet invented a computer that can count that high.

Tons of men say that, too.

Yeah, but I rarely look at guys' profiles. But it wouldn't surprise me at all. Why write something creative and original when you can copy the same thing 800,000,000,000 other lazy people are using??

The best is when their profile ONLY says they're laid back or easy-going. laugh

Whats even more funny....are the ones that say they dont play games, tell you how it is to your face, a bit brash, but are great once you get to know them.

So they need a fictional character because all real men are out to crush their dreams. I thought it was because they had lost grip on reality and a possessed complete lack of originality. My mistake, thanks for the clarification.

I wrote something VERY creative and original (I think) and it gets LOTS of views and comments. No interest from anyone even remotely compatible, but you can't have everything.

But I think the OP's point parallels mine -- why do people have to fall back on trite and hackneyed cliches instead of writing something that might actually be useful to a potential reader?

Are you expecting all the women to just be looking for good kissers?

Hmm, I don't know, I don't want a prince, don't want to be a princess.

But, you know what I hate more than that? Those who are looking for their "other half"! What the hell? You're not good enough on your own? You're incomplete? Sorry, I want and need a whole person, someone who's just fine either with or without someone.

Sheesh, drives me nuts!

I think it is because there are so many men who don't even come close even being date-able. No job, 7 kids with 5 mothers, no car, lenghty criminal record...these are just a few of the TRUE stories I have heard from men.

If a man would even TRY to be a prince...then maybe we've got a shot.

If the title intimidates you, than move on....you may not be up to the challenge.

As far as delusional, nahh...delusional is the 40 something year old man, looking for a 20 something woman, who has a job, an athletic body, is not looking for commitment, or money, while he is bald, and broke, and most likely married! Now that is fantasy! (yet I see the requests for it daily!)

no problem.

i mean considering the fact that as a human subconsciously we are all looking for perfection no matter how many times we say out loud that we are not. we are looking for the soul mate. the one.

but most just settle.

so if they want prince charming thats because the world is rampant with verbal abuse.

which i have a feeling you know.

so if some women are sick of the verbal abuse they will make a list of qualities that are not impossible.. but may be extremely rare. just like some guys are looking for perfection in their women or have a hardcore checklist too.

its not a gender specific situation. its a mentality situation.

so yeah...

no problem.

I think "complete lack of originality" is 100% accurate.

Most profiles I've seen are either empty or might as well be.

"I don't know what to write here."

"Anything you want to know, you'll have to ask."

"I love my friends and family."

"I like going out or staying in."

And my all-time favorite: "I'm a fun person who likes to have fun."

I saw one yesterday -- I am NOT making this up -- the entire profile was "I'm me."

Makes you feel like you've known her your whole life.

I mean, what can you do with that? Then they wonder why they get e-mails that say "Wassup?" or "Nice boobs." No one with half a functioning corpus callosum is going to waste any time on them....

Um where exactly are you drawing that conclusion from? I'm expecting women to have a vagina and to not be completely void of thought. I'd say my expectations are pretty well grounded.
