I actually celebrate Yule which means I have a tree (small one) I have a business here so of course I decorate my shop. I live on a farm and have two HUGE mechanical reindeer made of white lights and the head moves up and down on one of them. Yule sir, consists of ALL of the holiday traditions that you associate with Christmas. The Christians merely added Jesus and Santa.
So I guess the question should be what aspect of the holiday do you celebrate that would be consistent with Christianity?

I actually made some venison jerky this year after hunting season and it came out good. A friend gave me some of the meat. The bucks are a lot more tough so ideally the best meat for eating is doe.

well...venison jerky I've had...and...I loved it !...now...when it comes to the meat and which one is better...I'm lost !...the only doe I'm familiar with is " pizza " doe...

Well when you hunt, you want to sneak up on the deer because if they run the adrenalin pumps through their bodies and the sweat and the epinephrine will cause the muscle to tighten up. That happens with doe or buck. The ideal situation is to catch the animal off guard. I dont personally hunt but I have friends here that do. Its NH of course. One deer will provide a surplus of meat so people will generally share.

Well this is getting
 I would blame the invention of Santa Claus for the move towards commercialism. Santa is based on the real Saint Nicolas. Pagans also gave gifts but it was no mythological being doing it. It was just gift giving amongst friends and family and lovers.

Im done with it myself I will probably leave up the decorations till after New Years just because its so much work to take them down.

too many people worrying about what Christmas should be for everyone else just celebrate Christmas in your own way and leave everyone else to do the same
