Twice, for your husband died in the service of his country.
Once, the person you know has been injured and likely not to recover from his wounds. Sucks.

No but it seems like people have been completely horrified to deliver bad news to me only to have me take it very well. My mama always said "It is what it is and you can't change it now"

Thanksgiving morning 1998,telling my daughter who was 10 at the time that her Auntie Kristine (my baby sister who was 25) had just died. I still get all choked up when I think about it.

Me too. Firing people is not fun, but place ran so much better for it.

I had to tell my then-father-in-law that his 21 yr old daughter died. Nobody else in the family wanted to call him, because he left due to her having cerebal palsy.
