I love organic food, I just wish more places would sell it. It is a bit more expensive, but worth it to give to my son.

The cost and, more importantly, unless you know the grower, you don't know for sure that's it's truly organic. The standards are not particularly stringent and many places claim to be organic, when in actuality, they're not so much. Also, if the neighboring farms and surrounding areas are not organic, then many of those chemicals, etc seep into the soil and ground water, which could affect the "organic" quality of said organic grower. I just don't have the time or energy to try to figure it out. Hopefully, as it becomes more common, these problems will resolve themselves.

I would love to go more organic in my grocery shopping, but it seems like all the organic stuff is so much more expensive. I really don't understand why since if there are no pesticides, steroids, growth factors, and chemicals used I would think it should be cheaper to produce. If anyone can explain that to me, please do. It seems that the more healthy a food is, the more it costs. The flip side is that you can buy a bag or cheese burgers from McD for under $5......no wonder there is such an obesity problem.

I've never understood that either. I can buy a loaf of white bread for $1.25 but whole grain, easily 3 or 4 bucks a loaf. I will never understand that. However, if you have a Trader Joe's near you, you can check it out. They have many organic, minimally processed, non-chemical filled stuff for really good prices, comparable if not cheaper than most grocery stores. |

I prefer the real thing. Eat, drink, and be merry. Life is too short as it is. Might as well enjoy it while we're here, 'cause you only go around once.

The healthier it is the more it costs. If you buy a product that has no sugar, it costs more even though it has less ingredients. The white bread you are talking about has had more processing then natural stone ground wheat. I don't understand why the wheat costs more either. |

Buy a book from Kevin Trudeau and you will understand why Organic Food is more expensive or at least have a viewpoint from another persons perspective. |

The cost.
Plus, I don't usually taste the difference between some organic foods versus non organic. An organic Fuji apple tastes just like a non organic Fuji apple to me. XD |
