No! One always secretly wants more from the friendship.

See...from my experience...this is very truedrinker drinker drinker

Most of my friends are females, and I'm not banging them.....anymore.

Haha. Seriously though. Yes, two members of the opposite sex can be friends only and not have sexual relations.

No, they cannot be friends. They will try to deceive themselves into thinking this. But, be assured that men and women are mortal enemies with copulation the only common thread.

I think that if you really are friend's, you also have respect for the opposite gender. Respect for that person as a friend. Respect is what it's all about.

 I believe if both parties understand that friendship is all that they want. Unfortunately, on occasion one party crosses the line either emotionally or sexually and then the friendship is either tainted or changed. Sometimes sexual relationships can also evolve into friendships, but most importantly if there is to be a long-term relationship all levels of intimacy (emotional, physically, intellectually) need to be meet.

Sure I have always had male friends & few dates. I am chubby, plain & outspoken, smart, generous & a good listener, but not very attractive. So it works in my case. Men don't see me as a sex partner. Imagine Peppermint Pattie, she's always got Charlies back, but he's still pining after the little red headed girl.

Well thanks for the invite. I am actually looking for a hometown, but quality of life & cost of living is more to me than the availability of men.

The living is cheap here, considering, not sure about the quality of life, I guess it depends on what you're looking for. But I do know the men prefer the chubbier girls. But you have the right idea about not relocating just for a guy.drinker

I live in an interesting world where I don't really have anyone to talk to. Sure, there are the usual suspects, but a lot of the people around me seem to be either depressed, hurting, or shallow. Can a man and a woman be just friends, knowing full well that it is just A FRIENDSHIP where they can talk about things that is bugging them, and have someone listen? It may be too much to ask. What do you think? If you read my profile, you may get a little better understanding where this question is coming from.

Why not? I've been friends with women that I'm attracted to, and even with women that are attracted to me.
