I used to get love letters from my ex when he was in the Army. I still have them somewhere. I should get rid of them, but I would like the kids to see that he was at one time a very thoughtful, caring, loving person. I am not sure if they have ever seen that side of him. I know that they remember the hateful, hurtful, angry side of him from when we were still together. And now they don't have much of a relationship with him at all.

I got one once from an older gentleman when I was in my 20s. It freaked me out in all honesty and I just assumed he was a stalker and going to start in. It only served to prompt me to change the locks on my apartment door at the time.
