lol, its not in regards to myself, I pormise yuo that. The lady I love dearly (and she knows who she is) is 28 years old.

I am asking in regards for my room mate, who believes the age of consent is 17 (he is 23). I know ten years ago it was 18, but I have just moved back here recently so am not sure if it changed or not.

The girl in question I have my own very sad and deep opinions about (none of them good), and I honestly wonder if she is lying to him, in order to get a roof over her head.

scroll down and yu will find the laws for each state in this site. I just ran across it a fewminutes ago, and going by what it states, New Yorks legal age of consent is indeed 17 without any qualifications (such as 17 allwoing the other person is only 3 years older than the one who is 17, etc).

Curiously, Michigans (which is where I originate from) is 16, unless the other person is an authority figure, but it does nto go on to describe who an authority figure is (in my opinion any adult would be an authority figure lol)
