WOODBURN, Ore. -- A bomb exploded late Friday afternoon at a bank in Woodburn.

It happened at the West Coast Bank on the Newberg 214 Highway around 5:30 p.m., Marion County deputies said.







Woodburn police, with the assistance of FBI and an Oregon State Police Bomb Technician were in the area investigating the report of a suspicious device whenthe device detonated resulting in serious injuries. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

Police and fire officials blocked off several blocks around the scene.

Highway 214 was closed in both directions east of Interstate 5 toward Woodburn downtown Woodburn as a result of the incident.

Crews Friday morning were investigating a suspicious package and possible threat at the nearby Wells Fargo, but later said that turned out to be nothing, according to the Woodburn Independent newspaper.

Woodburn has been totally taken over by the Mexicans now.They have a great locomotive on display in the middle of town! :smile:
