You're a grade school teacher teaching very young children.

All your students are well-behaved.

The recess bell rings and they all run out to the playgound.

You go out to the playground to watch over them.

When you get there you see Johnny and Jeannie sitting on a bench hugging and kissing each other passionately.

What do you do?

Do you just ignore them? indifferent

Do you praise them for being so loving?

Do you reprimand them and tell them they are doing something wrong? huh

What would you do?

Difficult for sure. I would try and get their attention onto something else. Tell them there is a time and place for everything?

Since kissing passionately is not normal child behavior I would be concerned about sexual abuse. I would go over and talk to them about it. Obviously being calm and casual with them.

When children act out sexually it is usually because they are victims of sexual abuse.

I'd separate em without reprimanding. Just go over and start talking to them about appropriate behavior in public

My child got a time out on the bench at recess for hugging another child in kindergarten. They were 5 yrs. old.

With all the chemicals and growth hormones we're putting in our food now and the open use of sex in advertising should we really be shocked by kids behaving this way? Proper education of such active youths is the first step to preventing any future problems that might arise from such behavior. When a society preaches morality yet through its actions and behaviors confuses its youth what should it expect....spock

And, that's just stupid. The problem is that it would seem that a great many people are lacking in common sense so the rules have to be made for the lowest common denominator.
